Jasmine and Peter

Childhood sweethearts Jasmine and Peter exchanged vows on what is traditionally the most romantic day of the year, St Valentine’s Day. Overlooking the stunning water views at Boreen Point, with the Pacific Ocean as a backdrop and a congregation of close family and special friends, Jasmine and Peter formalised their union.

Jasmine and Peter have known each other and one another’s family since the tender age of 11, when their families became next door neighbours. After a more serious eight year relationship Peter decided to sweep Jasmine off her feet by arranging a secret trip to Sydney to propose.
Jasmine and Peter chose the Sunshine Coast to celebrate their wedding and the quaint reception location of the Apollian Hotel proved to be a sentimental choice for Jasmine. “As a child, our family spent many family holidays camping at Boreen Point, and my parents also own a property in the area,” Jasmine reminisced. With its sweeping views and a beach style setting, the location proved a perfect choice for the couple who ideally wanted a picturesque outdoor celebration.
Jasmine and Peter had planned to hold their wedding ceremony on the foreshore at Borreen Point, however continuous rain leading up to the day, made that somewhat difficult to achieve, and at the last minute the ceremony was held at the hotel. The rain and the change of location certainly didn’t dampen the amount of love and excitement in the air that day. “Sharing our vows surrounded by family and friends who had witnessed our relationship grow and evolve over the years was just wonderful. Even the sound of light rain falling around us was pretty serene and lovely,” exclaimed Jasmine.
With the official part of the day over, the newlyweds then went on a little adventure, travelling to nearby memorable locations for photos.Jasmine and Peter chose Calli Burnett of Calli B Photography to capture the images of their wedding day. “Calli was very professional and relaxed, and despite the wet weather she was enthusiastic about honouring our wishes to have photos by the lake in the rain.”
“We chose Calli because it was incredibly important to us that the photos were spontaneous and candid, and this really stood out when she showed us her portfolio of work. Although faced with some challenging weather conditions, Calli captured the romantic spirit of the day and we were just thrilled with her work,” said Jasmine.
Jasmine and Peter both wanted a relaxed design scheme for their wedding day, and their reception incorporated a garden vintage theme, featuring muted soft colours and country style floral designs. The styling for their wedding day was whimsical and delicate, and reflected both Jasmine and Peter’s personalities and emotions. Jasmine and Peter appointed wedding planner Trudy Croad from Events by Design, to assist with the co-ordination of their wedding. “Jasmine wanted a cute country style day, with a beautiful pastel colour palette featuring soft pinks and greens. We combined gorgeous floral fabrics with beautiful flowers in eclectic teapots and teacups, accompanied by dainty cupcakes in pink and mauve,” explained Trudy.
Jasmine looked breathtaking in her full skirted wedding gown which was accessorised by an elegant fascinator, and soft ivory flowers. Jasmine’s three bridesmaids wore soft pretty pink dresses with mulberry pink sashes and held pastel toned floral bouquets that embodied the overall style palette for the day. The room at the Apollian Hotel looked warm and inviting said Jasmine as she fondly remembers the festivities. “The planned outdoor dance floor was a hit with guests who experienced some refreshing rain falling around them while displaying some serious dance moves.”
The beautiful couple enjoyed a long night of celebrations, superb food and wine, lots of laughing and most importantly many special memories. “It was just a perfect day – simple, relaxed and fun,” said Jasmine.
