Victoria-Fabio-1Victoria and Fabio met on Valentine’s Day and three years later while holidaying in Fiji, Fabio popped the question by writing ‘Will you marry me?’ with banana leaves on their bed.

On a beautiful Autumn day, Victoria and Fabio celebrated their love for each other with a wedding ceremony on a beautiful pandanus tree lined lawn overlooking a lagoon. Victoria arrived in her family’s historic jaguar, the same vehicle that her mother arrived in for her own wedding many years ago. Victoria’s parents completely restored the vintage car for the wedding day and it was a beautiful sentimental touch to the couple’s celebrations.

Many of Victoria and Fabio’s guests travelled from overseas and right across Australia to attend the event, so the couple chose to extend the wedding celebrations over the entire weekend to enjoy the company of close friends and family.

“After three years of anticipation leading up to our wedding, we finally stood face to face in front of our family and friends and exchanged our wedding vows.”

the details…
Guests were provided with sandalwood fans and rose petal cones handmade by the bride and groom.
The groom wore his grandfather’s tie pin – which was a long held tradition within Fabio’s family.
The bride wore a silhouette mermaid style organza gown with a ruffled bust line featuring a Swarovski
crystal brooch.
The bride wore a handmade headpiece featuring pearls and Swarovski crystals.

Niki-Alex-1To mark their enthusiasm for cycling Niki and Alex incorporated a cute bicycle for two onto their wedding invitation and then drawing inspiration from Alex’s sapphire engagement ring, chose a colour palette of French navy, white and soft pink to feature on everything from the stationery right through to the flowers.

On what was a perfect Autumn Noosa day the couple celebrated their nuptials at a church ceremony in Sunshine Beach followed by an elegantly styled reception at Sails Restaurant.

Alex remembers the bridesmaids and then Niki walking into the church under a beam of sunshine that seemed to follow the procession. The three little flower girls did their own individual thing while walking down the aisle which provided a humorous start to the traditional, yet personalised ceremony.

Once at the reception, guests enjoyed champagne and canapés on the beachfront lawn of the restaurant while the sun set gracefully over Noosa beach.

“Our minister included many personal pieces from our conversations we had previously had with him into the ceremony, which really added a personal touch to the traditional vows.”

the details…

The scented floral designs showcased the French navy styling and accessorised the other details perfectly with shades of pink, cream, ivory and white.

French navy place cards featured on the guests’ tables and table numbers placed within tall apothecary vases, provided a unique way to styling.

Niki and Alex’s stylist also incorporated personal details around the room, including a verse from a favourite song by John Lennon which was printed and framed then placed in areas of the reception.

Silver glass lanterns with pillar candles were a romantic touch used to light a pathway to the stunning beach.

The two tier wedding cake was made by a friend who spent months baking and testing, until she was happy with the final product.

Alex’s heartfelt yet comical speech had most of the guests in tears, providing a very personalised touch to their wedding day.

A pink inspired pastel palette featuring floral details and pretty monochromatic blooms sets the scene for an ambient celebration.

Both Molly and Nic anticipated being too excited to wait for an afternoon wedding ceremony, so they decided
to celebrate their nuptials early in the day by choosing a morning beach ceremony in Noosa. Blue skies and
sunshine prevailed as Molly and Nic exchanged vows.  Following the ceremony their guests were presented
with small packets of bird seed labeled with ‘toujours’, which means ‘forever’ in French, to toss in the air in
celebration.
Family played a big part in the preparations of the day including the acoustic music, which was provided by
Molly’s brother-in-law who also performed a song he had written especially for the couple. With a nod to
their French heritage, Molly and Nic incorporated a French inspired lunch and champagne menu into their
reception.
“At the end of the day it is about the raw organic things – the words we said to each
other, standing together under the archway with my best friend, and the fact we were
able to share these cherished moments and memories with our family and friends.”

Curt staged a proposal with a difference when he chose an unorthodox way of asking Robyn for her hand in
marriage. While fishing at a local hot spot Curt yelled at Robyn to come and reel in the catch that was currently on
the end of his line. Confused and a little unsure of what to do next, Robyn began to reel the line in and instead of a
fish, found a faux diamond ring on the end of the line, which was quickly followed by a proposal from Curt.
Robyn and Curt wanted an intimate casual affair for their wedding celebrations with a focus on family and friends.
They chose a homestead in Eumundi for both their ceremony and reception.  The homestead featured a rustic
styled gazebo where the couple held their outdoor ceremony followed by the reception which was held in the
historic home.
After the ceremony, guests were served pre-dinner drinks on the lawn as they were entertained by a fantastic jazz
band.  The reception included a photo booth, which kept the guests entertained for some time.  A lolly and sweet
bar also proved a hit with both adults and kids alike.
“One of my favourite memories of the day is when I walked down the aisle, with classic
guitar music playing in the background, readings on love, an Irish blessing, a short prayer,
and then the declaration that we were now Mr and Mrs Keith.”

Both Linda and Robert were deployed to Afghanistan for the eight month lead-up to their wedding day, and only
returned three weeks prior to the event.
Being members of the Australian Army, the couple are used to experiencing long periods of time apart from
each other, but trying to plan a wedding in another country, while also being separated from each other proved
a challenging task.  After some consideration Linda and Robert decided it was best to engage a professional
wedding planner to assist in the smooth preparations of their day.
Linda and Robert chose an outdoor ceremony under the beautiful gazebo at Laurels in Maleny and celebrated
afterwards with a reception that they described as “fun-filled and vivacious”. Their wedding style was
representative of a modern romance with a classical twist. A black and white theme flowed from the five
bridesmaid’s gowns to the flowers, and continued inside to the reception. A DJ and photo booth encouraged
guest interaction throughout the reception and guests enjoyed dancing until late that night.
“To know we had both made it home safe to one another and were able to stand there and
say our vows was an amazing feeling. For many of our loved ones, they had not seen us
since we had left, so it was a very emotional reunion.”

Tall glass vases of white blooms featured on each reception table with black ribbon napkin features and beautiful candles.

While contemplating her dream wedding, Mieke was inspired by several Sunshine Coast beach weddings
featured in wedding magazines and decided to plan her wedding celebrations around the beachside style she
had fallen in love with. A colour palette of antique white and beige with a hint of green was used in the styling
and décor of the entire wedding design. The wedding details featured an abundance of floral designs, décor
and special touches for the guests to enjoy, including a photo booth at the reception and a jazz band that
kept the guests well and truly entertained.
All four of Mieke and Brett’s children featured as their only bridal party and their fondest memory of the day
was spending some time with them on the beach while being photographed after the ceremony. Mieke and
Brett wanted an informal yet elegant reception to celebrate their special day, and with the assistance of their
wedding planner and stylist, chose to style their reception in a way that reminded them of a large dinner
party with family and friends.

Lisa and Paul

27 NOVEMBER 2010

Lisa-Paul-1Paul decided to propose to Lisa while on a ski trip to New Zealand. Initially he had planned to pop the question in a popular restaurant that boasted magnificent views of the mountains, but when Lisa had a fall on the slopes and collapsed in agony in the snow, he decided right there and then there was no time like the present and asked for her hand in marriage!

In contrast to their skiing holiday in New Zealand, both Lisa and Paul wanted a relaxed coastal theme for their wedding day, and decided on Sunshine Beach to celebrate the occasion. Hosting the ceremony at a beautiful home overlooking the coastline, Lisa and Paul encouraged guests to stay nearby and enjoy the festivities over the whole weekend. Their reception followed at a nearby restaurant and they chose a stand up cocktail event for the 100 guests that witnessed their nuptials.

Friends and family enjoyed acoustic music and then a DJ provided some more upbeat music so guests could dance the evening away.

“The best part of the day was when I woke up as Mrs Bryant!”

the details…

The bride wore a ‘Lisa Ho’ Grecian style wedding gown.

Just prior to Katie and Christopher’s wedding in Noosa, Katie’s Italian grandmother passed away, and each time Katie visited
her resting place she noticed  a little brown sparrow sitting on her car. On Katie and Christopher’s wedding day it seemed
like the same little brown sparrow had perched itself inside the venue to watch over the celebrations.
Katie honoured her grandmother’s memory by attaching a small framed photo of her to the wedding bouquet, ensuring her
grandmother was never too far away from her heart.
Katie and Christopher wanted a beachside celebration with a focus on food, wine and service, and it was important to them
that their celebration had a focus on family and friends and most importantly their love for one another. Unfortunately,
inclement weather prevailed and their beachside ceremony was re-located to their reception venue at the last minute – which
fortunately had a ceremony option available that still offered amazing views and waterfront coverage. Katie and Christopher
wanted a special event so they had the restaurant styled perfectly with hanging crystal pendants and suspended floral
blooms.
“We wanted to create a classic, yet elegant atmosphere for our wedding day, and the beachside
setting fulfilled our dreams – though my favourite part of the day was when I married the plumber
of my dreams!”

Kirstin-Matthew-1English born Matthew and Australian born Kirstin reside in Abu Dhabi but decided to celebrate their wedding day in Australia with friends and family. Both wanted the wedding day to reflect each of their cultures and incorporate certain traditions from each country that were very important to them. The style of the day was that of a garden inspired theme, and focused on a garden party celebration featuring famous English games for the guests to enjoy – including Pimms, boules and croquet. The reception menu and fine wine list on the other hand, was very much  Australian influenced.

Half of the wedding guests travelled from overseas and it was important to Kirstin and Matthew to enjoy time with each of them – so choosing a reception venue with an outdoor ceremony option suited their requirements perfectly.  Most importantly, it gave them the opportunity to spend much of their time celebrating with the people they love the most.

They chose to host a wedding with exceptional design elements featuring distinctive décor, flowers, and styling pieces that reflected their unique and individual personalities., The wedding venue also included an outdoor ‘chill out’ space for guests to enjoy for a couple of hours prior to sitting down to the formal dinner.

“The most wonderful part of the day, and perhaps the most humbling, was the presence of all of our friends and family. More than half of our guests had travelled from overseas – the United Kingdom, America and Canada, to be at the wedding.”

the details…

The bride wore a gorgeous Vera Wang gown accessorised by Manolo Blahnik shoes.

The bride and her bridesmaids arrived at the ceremony in a fully restored vintage black London Cab.

were busy commencing wedding preparations. Kearin was certain she wanted an indoor ceremony and chose
a beautiful vintage church in Maleny to host their wedding, and a nearby fine dining restaurant to celebrate the
reception.
Mark and Kearin’s wedding theme was inspired by their love of getting dressed up and going to the races. Asking
their guests to dress in vivid colours also helped set the mood and style for their ‘spring racing carnival’ theme.
The bridal party chose a subtle colour palette featuring black, cream and ivory with hints of yellow and baby pink.
The bridesmaids wore black racing inspired hair fascinators – a concept complemented by the splashes of colour
in the guests’ outfits.
