Kelly and Tim

It was a gorgeous clear winter’s day in Noosa, when Kelly and Tim tied the knot in a beach ceremony at Little Cove. A beautiful muslin beach canopy was erected on the sand, and surrounding the ceremony area were white chairs with beige striped cushions that were accessorised by floral posies marking the aisle.
Kelly and Tim wanted an elegant coastal feel for their wedding day. “We both love the beach, and choosing the ceremony site was the easy part,” said Kelly. A memorable moment for Tim was as Kelly walked down the enchanting stairs from the cliff above the beach, and made her way to her groom, he was incredibly overwhelmed with the lovely sight of his bride. “Kelly looked a vision, it was really an amazing moment,” said Tim.
Kelly and Tim met as work colleagues, both sharing a love for beautiful teeth, Tim a dentist and Kelly a dental assistant, and they started dating after attending a work related seminar that quickly turned out to be the beginning of a wonderful romance.
Kelly and Tim wanted to have more of a dinner celebration than a traditional wedding reception, and were able to achieve that very feel with a stylish evening at Sails Restaurant Noosa. “One of the main reasons we chose Sails was because of the quality of food and wine, we wanted the evening to resemble an extravagant dinner party, and the end result exceeded our expectations,” said Kelly.
To help co-ordinate and plan their wedding day, Kelly and Tim engaged the services of Noosa wedding planner, Trudy Croad from Events by Design. “When we met with Trudy we asked her to create something simple yet stylish for our wedding day, we didn’t want any fluff, and our only request was for a relaxed ceremony, accompanied by an elegant formal dinner reception, after that we gave her complete creative licence over the entire day,” said Kelly.
Kelly and Tim, both incredibly busy with their careers wanted someone to take away the pressure of the wedding organisation. “Trudy was absolutely wonderful, full of ideas and enthusiasm, and so incredibly well organised,” said Kelly.
Trudy explained that the overall design was to be “elegant coastal” and this was achieved by using a neutral colour palette of beige, antique white and ivory. “We then added to this contrasting colour with green tip buds in the ivory based floral designs and lots of textured fabrics and furniture to create contrast throughout the day. Every detail of this wedding was scrutinised over by the Events by Design team and every element of the day was used to punctuate the senses,” said Trudy.
Creating two distinctive areas, Trudy and her team styled a unique chill out space for guests at the reception and the front deck was accessorised with vintage style arm chairs and ottomans with lots of seaside trinkets. “It was great to sit there at the beginning while the sun went down over the water, and then later in the evening it was a wonderful spot to just sit and relax,” said Kelly. The interior of the reception was transformed into an elegant dinner party setting with softly lit candles and sweet smelling floral designs.
Kelly and Tim chose not to have traditional speeches, and Tim was the only speaker of the evening. “We wanted our day to be individual to us, and to share the most special day in our lives with those who matter the most,” said Tim. Kelly and Tim successfully personalised their wedding day, with individual touches and this was showcased by their focus for an elegant celebration. “The whole day just blends as one incredible highlight, everything ran perfectly and I can honestly say it was the best day of my life and one that I will remember with great pleasure,” said Tim.
Kelly and Tim shared a quiet moment together on their wedding day, as they spent some valuable time together after their ceremony. “Everything that had unfolded seemed to be done just perfectly for us and looking back at it I can’t imagine that we would have changed a single thing,” said Kelly.
Tripti and Paul

Tripti and Paul wanted a unique celebration for their wedding day, and certainly managed to achieve their vision of individuality and an eclectic flavour with a day full of surprises for everyone.

Photography by Melissa Jean Photography
Tripti and Paul met in Noosa 10 years prior to their proposal – which unfolded over a bottle of Krug champagne in a quaint bistro in Tripti’s hometown of Regensburg in France. Although residing in France, Germany, Monaco and Italy for an extensive period of time, Tripti and Paul were living in Noosa on and off for close to 20 years and chose Noosa as the ideal location to celebrate their commitment to each other. “Noosa National Park is my favourite spot in the whole world. It is simply breathtaking and we both feel a strong homely connection to the area.” said Tripti.
The National Park’s scenic views and the amazing landscape set the scene for the formalities and not too much was required to enhance the location where Tripti and Paul staged their wedding ceremony. In the main picnic area between two Australian Paper Bark trees, Tripti and Paul were pronounced man and wife. Accompanying the nuptials was also an acceptance ceremony which was designed to unite Paul, Tripti and Tripti’s son Pheonix (from a previous marriage) as one.
At the conclusion of the ceremony the first of many surprises that Tripti and Paul had organised arrived. “Firstly we arranged for all the guests to be transported to Noosa Sound where they had champagne and canapés. Then out of nowhere a large barge pulled up, and the guests were told to get on and enjoy an afternoon of eating, drinking and celebration while floating along the Noosa River, said Tripti”. The large barge actually belonged to Virgin tycoon, Richard Branson and had often been used to transport building materials and equipment to and from his island in the Noosa River. Later in the afternoon Tripti and Paul arrived in a quaint wooden boat with their bridal party and met the barge half way up the Noosa River. “All our guests were cheering and were so excited when we pulled up – it was so much fun,” recalled Tripti.
Tripti and Paul had organised two stages of their wedding celebrations, and with the assistance of wedding planner Carly Laczko the surprises continued and the fun didn’t stop there. At sunset the barge made its way back to Noosa Sound where the second stage of the celebration took place at Parque Mexico Restaurant in Quamby Place. The restaurant which boasts an authentic Mexican theme, enabled the festivities to continue and more guests arrived to share the day with the couple. An exotic feast of food was on display and guests took the opportunity to experience an evening featuring individual and unique catering.
Tripti was honoured when her father and his wife flew in from El Salvador. A very special memory that Tripti has of her wedding day is her father’s heartfelt speech. “My father spoke of how incredibly difficult it is to describe how much a father loves his firstborn. I was overwhelmed, and understanding his pride and love for me has now empowered me beyond belief,” she said.
Tripti’s close friends and two bridesmaids travelled from Bali and London to be by her side on her special day, and together with 60 family and friends, Tripti and Paul shared with them all their love for each other and the beautiful landscape of Noosa.
Tripti and Paul decided on Melissa Wilbraham of Melissa Jean Photography to photograph their special day. “We knew instantly that Melissa was the right photographer for us and she just beams with this intrinsic motivation that underpins her passion for photography,” said Tripti.
“Our wedding was a tad ‘outside the square’, so we needed a professional photographer with artistic flair that would not only understand the concept, but form a seamless role in creating it. Melissa Jean was able to do exactly that, and in hindsight has exceeded our expectations in every way.”
Tanya and Brad

Returning to her hometown of Gympie for a mutual friend’s birthday after 18 months in the UK, Tanya met her future husband Brad.

Photography by Bambi Photography
“I was at my friend’s party at the local hotel, and was introduced to Brad early in the night. We hit it off straight away and just talked and talked the whole night long. From there, the rest as they say is history!” said Tanya. The couple, who then got to know each other better in Gympie, were soon engaged following a romantic proposal in Byron Bay. “Brad had a serene engagement moment in mind and had planned to propose to me at Cape Byron Lighthouse,” said Tanya. “But, after the long trek to the top and with what seemed like a hundred tourists surrounding us, Brad decided to reschedule his proposal. He then proposed to me later that evening prior to our dinner date, and of course I said yes,” said Tanya.
Having both lived in Gympie and the Sunshine Coast area Brad and Tanya knew the landscape would be the perfect canvas for their country style wedding, Tanya and Brad chose the historic St Patrick’s Catholic Church and Gunabel Homestead to celebrate their ceremony and reception. Inspired by Brad’s love of restoring convertible automobiles, Tanya and Brad chose a vintage theme for their wedding day. A mingling of crystals and pearls together with a palette of ivory and mocha formed an elegant décor touch to the glamorous reception space.
Dazzling in an ivory gown with a bodice encrusted with delicate crystals and pearls, Tanya was flanked by her three bridesmaids in grape satin dresses with matching wraps. “I felt incredibly relaxed when I turned up at the church, just a couple of minutes late,” said Tanya. This was the moment she had been waiting for, and with her father by her side, Tanya made her entrance and was overcome when her eyes met Brad’s. “I could see that Brad was already overwhelmed with emotion and then the tears started flowing for me too.”
“Our ceremony was very important to us, the commitment of marriage was very special, and to celebrate our love in front of all of our family and friends was an incredible occasion,” recalls Tanya. After the ceremony the bridal party and guests arrived at the historic grounds of Gunabel Homestead (built in 1885) near the banks of The Mary River, where they all enjoyed champagne and canapés. Brad’s parents owned a nearby property and the newlyweds decided to have location photography on the property, which allowed them to unwind a little and enjoy some time with their bridal party.
Both Tanya and Brad wanted a country style shoot with a touch of elegance and Gympie photographer Bambi Wixon from Photography by Bambi had the pleasure of capturing the wedding day. “Bambi’s professionalism, creativity and attention to detail, not only on our wedding day, but also leading up to the event, was outstanding,” said Tanya.
“Bambi spent time with us on several occasions at our selected locations, to ensure each site would deliver the right background for the images we were hoping to capture. We were incredibly impressed by her dedication and desire to get to know us better and deliver exactly what we wanted,” said Tanya. “Bambi also created a table seating arrangement for us using a photo taken at our complimentary engagement sitting which was placed on an antique style easel at the entrance of the reception. It was a lovely touch for our guests to see,” said Tanya.
The reception had a soft ambient feel with oil burners in glass vases complimented by crystals and pearls which created a romantic glow through the evening. Topiary trees threaded with fairy lights were placed throughout the room and together with soft candles, created the soft mood lighting. The family and their cars played a big part in Tanya and Brad’s wedding day, with Brad’s 1070 VW Fastback convertible taking centre stage and Tanya’s grandfather proudly driving his immaculate 1963 EJ Holden Wagon in the bridal procession.
“There were so many wonderful moments of the day, but my favourite moment was when Brad started to reach for his handkerchief before the first bridesmaid had even made her way down the aisle. It was so touching to see him so full of emotion, crying and smiling at the same time,” recalls Tanya.
Jasmine and Peter

Childhood sweethearts Jasmine and Peter exchanged vows on what is traditionally the most romantic day of the year, St Valentine’s Day. Overlooking the stunning water views at Boreen Point, with the Pacific Ocean as a backdrop and a congregation of close family and special friends, Jasmine and Peter formalised their union.

Photography by Calli B Photography
Jasmine and Peter have known each other and one another’s family since the tender age of 11, when their families became next door neighbours. After a more serious eight year relationship Peter decided to sweep Jasmine off her feet by arranging a secret trip to Sydney to propose.
Jasmine and Peter chose the Sunshine Coast to celebrate their wedding and the quaint reception location of the Apollian Hotel proved to be a sentimental choice for Jasmine. “As a child, our family spent many family holidays camping at Boreen Point, and my parents also own a property in the area,” Jasmine reminisced. With its sweeping views and a beach style setting, the location proved a perfect choice for the couple who ideally wanted a picturesque outdoor celebration.
Jasmine and Peter had planned to hold their wedding ceremony on the foreshore at Borreen Point, however continuous rain leading up to the day, made that somewhat difficult to achieve, and at the last minute the ceremony was held at the hotel. The rain and the change of location certainly didn’t dampen the amount of love and excitement in the air that day. “Sharing our vows surrounded by family and friends who had witnessed our relationship grow and evolve over the years was just wonderful. Even the sound of light rain falling around us was pretty serene and lovely,” exclaimed Jasmine.
With the official part of the day over, the newlyweds then went on a little adventure, travelling to nearby memorable locations for photos.Jasmine and Peter chose Calli Burnett of Calli B Photography to capture the images of their wedding day. “Calli was very professional and relaxed, and despite the wet weather she was enthusiastic about honouring our wishes to have photos by the lake in the rain.”
“We chose Calli because it was incredibly important to us that the photos were spontaneous and candid, and this really stood out when she showed us her portfolio of work. Although faced with some challenging weather conditions, Calli captured the romantic spirit of the day and we were just thrilled with her work,” said Jasmine.
Jasmine and Peter both wanted a relaxed design scheme for their wedding day, and their reception incorporated a garden vintage theme, featuring muted soft colours and country style floral designs. The styling for their wedding day was whimsical and delicate, and reflected both Jasmine and Peter’s personalities and emotions. Jasmine and Peter appointed wedding planner Trudy Croad from Events by Design, to assist with the co-ordination of their wedding. “Jasmine wanted a cute country style day, with a beautiful pastel colour palette featuring soft pinks and greens. We combined gorgeous floral fabrics with beautiful flowers in eclectic teapots and teacups, accompanied by dainty cupcakes in pink and mauve,” explained Trudy.
Jasmine looked breathtaking in her full skirted wedding gown which was accessorised by an elegant fascinator, and soft ivory flowers. Jasmine’s three bridesmaids wore soft pretty pink dresses with mulberry pink sashes and held pastel toned floral bouquets that embodied the overall style palette for the day. The room at the Apollian Hotel looked warm and inviting said Jasmine as she fondly remembers the festivities. “The planned outdoor dance floor was a hit with guests who experienced some refreshing rain falling around them while displaying some serious dance moves.”
The beautiful couple enjoyed a long night of celebrations, superb food and wine, lots of laughing and most importantly many special memories. “It was just a perfect day – simple, relaxed and fun,” said Jasmine.
Erin and Darren

On holiday in beautiful Hawaii, Darren took Erin by surprise when, during a helicopter ride over picturesque Maui, Darren organised the helicopter to hover perfectly over a stunning waterfall where he presented Erin with a beautiful ring and asked her to be his wife.

Photography by Chesterton Smith Photography
Erin and Darren first met while working together at a Golf Resort in Victoria. After two years of serious flirting, their friendship finally took a romantic turn. Sharing their very first holiday together in Noosa, and holidaying there at least twice a year ever since, it was no surprise that they chose to hold their wedding at their much-loved beachside destination. “We both grew up at the beach and there was never any doubt that our wedding would be on the beach.” Said Erin “As soon as we were engaged we knew we wanted to hold our special day at beautiful Noosa.” Each year when Erin and Darren holidayed in Noosa they would enjoy the cuisine at Bistro C Restaurant. The restaurant was a favourite of theirs and by the time they returned from their engagement holiday in Hawaii, both sets of parents had already enquired at Bistro C for information on a reception and possible wedding dates.
Erin and Darren wanted a classic beach style wedding and chose the Noosa beach ceremony location of Maison La Plage to celebrate their nuptials. Erin wanted a natural beach setting with a touch of formality. Balinese flags were erected to depict the altar area of their wedding and Italian padded beach chairs together with beautiful floral designs accessorised the wedding ceremony area. Erin walked down the aisle to ‘Somewhere over the rainbow’ and both Erin and Darren’s parents took part in the ceremony – giving their blessing and support. To make the event even more special, Erin’s favourite Aunty presided over the ceremony. “We were so thrilled that she could make our wedding day, but felt incredibly lucky to also have her as our marriage celebrant. It made it so very personal and we both felt really relaxed,” recalls Erin.
Because Erin and Darren, and many of their guests were from Victoria, and none actually lived on the Sunshine Coast, it meant all of the guests travelled from their home towns to be part of the special day. “Each and every one of our guests flew to Noosa, which we were truly grateful for,” said Erin. Instead of the traditional bridesmaids Erin chose two male attendants to be by her side on her wedding day. “They were my ’bridesmen’ and they did their job perfectly, managing to make me laugh and keep me from getting stressed,” she said.
Erin and Darren chose a sit down dinner reception at Bistro C Restaurant with a menu featuring fantastic local seafood which family and friends still rave on about today. “Amy and her staff at Bistro C were amazing and from the moment we booked, nothing was too much trouble,” said Erin. After interviewing five different photographers, Erin and Darren chose Tanya Chesterton Smith to take the photos of the wedding day. “From the moment we met Tanya we felt very comfortable and were impressed by her portfolio. She ended up capturing the most precious moments of our day – much more than I would have ever imagined, and turned them into pieces of art,” said Erin.
A major highlight of the reception was a two piece band Erin and Darren had hired, who really got the guests up and dancing until the wee hours of the morning. “Because all of our guests decided to make a holiday of the celebration, they took advantage of the beautiful location to really let their hair down, ending the night at a bar nearby. I can remember late in the evening just taking a couple of moments to reflect on the day and as I sat there watching all my friends and family I can remember thinking that I didn’t want the night to end,” recalled Erin.
When all of the celebrations had concluded, Darren and Erin began their walk down Hastings Street to return to their penthouse apartment. “It was a road that we had walked many times together, but as we looked at each other we realised we were now husband and wife. It was an amazing feeling, and by far the best part of our special day.”
Kelly & Nico

Living in Europe and having met through mutual friends on a skiing weekend in Burcherer Switzerland, it was not surprising that Nicholas proposed to Kelly when spending another luxury weekend in a mountain resort nearby. “We were hiking up very challenging terrain and at the end when we had reached our destination, Nicholas proposed. I was tired but so ecstatic, and of course there were plenty of tears,” remembers Kelly.

Photography by Jodi McDonald Photography
When it was time for Kelly and Nico as he is fondly known, to choose the location for their wedding, the decision was easy. Both Kelly and Nico reside in Switzerland but chose the elegant setting of The Plantation in Cooroy to celebrate their nuptials the Australian way. Kelly’s father had been restoring a vintage car and the 1924 Delage became the inspiration behind the sophisticated styling for their wedding day. “My father and his friend had spent five years restoring this beautiful automobile so being driven to the ceremony in it was a special part of my day,” recalls Kelly.
Kelly and Nico decided on a Catholic ceremony that took place in a very private area close to Noosa Beach. Their ceremony was witnessed by 50 of their closest family and friends from both Europe and Australia. The theme for the wedding was one of pure elegance, and Kelly wore a gorgeous bridal gown by internationally renowned bridal wear designer Jenny Packham, whose gowns adorn many a Hollywood celebrity and are regularly seen on the red carpet of Los Angeles. The gown, embellished with intricate beading and luxurious fabric was accessorised with a soft floral bouquet and matched perfectly in combination with Nico’s Hugo Boss suit.
Kelly and Nico chose the beaches of Noosa as the backdrop for their wedding photography , and photographer Jodi Mc Donald captured the day completely with many stunning images. “We could not have been any happier with the photos that Jodi took on our wedding day. We specifically wanted informal, relaxed photos, and Jodi delivered that and so much more. What we love about the photos is the sentiment that Jodi caught, so expertly and without us even knowing she was there!” said Kelly. “The end result shows just how much she really loves her job.” Once the photos were over, Kelly and Nico were driven back to the Plantation in the classic Deluge to begin their celebrations. They entered to a rousing applause from their guests who had arrived earlier by bus.
On arrival at the Plantation, guests were greeted by butlers and served a traditional Chilean drink – a small but special touch to interlink Nico’s heritage and culture into the celebration. Gourmet food and superb wine was a feature of the evening with dancing till late under the stars. The long reception tables were decorated with vintage style roses in soft pinks and a romantic outdoor setting was achieved with the help of a beautiful marquee. The perfectly manicured gardens of The Plantation, just 20 minutes from Noosa, staged an exquisite reception. The stunning country estate allowed Kelly and Nico to showcase their personal style and delivered an unforgettable event that their guests will find hard to forget.
Kelly and Nico wanted an intimate celebration with family and friends and a wedding day that expressed the importance of love and commitment. “Our wedding day was a dream, the weather was warm, the location was perfect and our treasured guests witnessed our truly special day,” Kelly said. “The happiness, smiles, laughter and love throughout the day were great, but my most special memory was seeing tears in the eyes of Nico when he saw me walking towards him.” Growing up in Brisbane Kelly spent many memorable holidays in Noosa, and when Kelly and Nico visited Australia together, Nico got to experience the beauty of Noosa firsthand when they decided to celebrate News Years Eve, Noosa style.
“We decided on Noosa for our wedding destination, not only because we love the area, but we also thought it was the most amazing location to really ‘show off’ Australia to our overseas family and friends.” ‘It was such an amazing day and all the guests fell in love with Noosa and the surrounding areas,” recalls Kelly. Guessing from the amazing time had by all, Noosa certainly lived up to its reputation and truly impressed everyone.
Sandi & Grant

Sandi and Grant met through Grant’s sister, who after working with Sandi for over a year, thought they would be perfect for each other. After setting up a blind date, Grant and Sandi finally met and have been together ever since.

Photography by Jennifer Oliphant Photography
Sandi and Grant’s proposal was a little different to most. Together they chose Sandi’s engagement ring which then sat on their bedside table, safely tucked away in its box until Grant chose the perfect time to propose. The proposal came while the two of them were on a scenic afternoon walk in the Rainforest Park at Buderim. Grant led Sandi over a beautiful bridge and then asked Sandi to be his wife. “He was so nervous he actually had to ask me what finger to place the ring on,” said Sandi laughing. To honour the memorable moment they both carved their initials into the timber railing of the bridge and are pleased to see them still there each time they walk that same path.
The couple chose a Hinterland wedding and celebrated their nuptials in a charming country style ceremony in Palmwoods. Drawing on the natural beauty of the rural location, the wedding day theme was based on Sandi’s love of vintage style textures and their wish to have a garden party feel to the day. A vision in elegance, Sandi designed and created her own ivory satin and lace wedding gown. Whereas her two bridesmaids each wore individual neutral tone dresses from the labels of “George” and “Seduce”. Guests at the ceremony were overwhelmed as they watched the besotted Grant meet Sandi half way down her walk of the aisle. “Before I had completed my entrance he met me, kissed me and told me how beautiful I was. At that moment no one else mattered, it was just wonderful,” recalled Sandi.
With a unique mix of personalised touches and ceremonial tradition, Sandi and Grant’s ceremony was their opportunity to feature various different elements to showcase their personalities. In quirky rock star style, Grant and his groomsmen made their way down the aisle on bicycles that they had found in a garage sale. “They were vintage 1970, rusty and a bit beaten up, but they had so much character about them that we thought it would be a great way to kick things off. No-one expected it and our page boy even rode down the aisle in a bike seat on the back of one of the bicycles. All the guests couldn’t stop laughing so it was a lot of fun,” said Grant.
A few weeks before the wedding, in typical Sandi and Grant style, the two of them approached a busker in Mooloolaba and asked her to provide the musical entertainment for their day. “We were getting an ice-cream near the beach and we were captivated by her cello playing, and asked her if she could play for us at our wedding,” said Sandi. The musician played for Sandi and Grant through the ceremony and again for guests while they were enjoying champagne and canapés prior to the sit-down reception.
When it came to choosing a wedding photographer both Sandi and Grant booked Jennifer Oliphant of Jennifer Oliphant Photography to photograph their wedding day. “During the preparation shots prior to the ceremony, Jennifer was taking hundreds of photos yet most of the time I didn’t even know she was there. After our ceremony we went on a country style road trip to get some location photo’s and Jennifer suggested some really unique spots for photography. She captured gorgeous images of us sitting in the grass with the beautiful rural setting as a backdrop. I felt completely relaxed with her and she made our afternoon one to really remember,” said Sandi.
Sandi and Grant’s reception was intimate and relaxed, and the country scenic setting of their wedding day was a magical start to their life together. “It was a beautiful warm summer’s night and our wedding was everything we had hoped for and more,” said Sandi.
Amber and Paul

Successful Sunshine Coast property guru Amber Werchon married her long time partner, solicitor Paul McHugh in a glamorous outdoor ceremony at a picturesque residence in Sunshine Beach. The venue was actually a last minute decision after unforeseen storm damage caused the beach where they had hoped to hold their ceremony, to become almost inaccessible.

Photography by Greg Gardner Photography
The stunning residence, owned by Amber’s uncle, was framed by the clear blue sea of the Pacific Ocean and featured a bamboo canopy with soft billowing white chiffon and delicate floral posies that lined the rose strewn aisle. Although unplanned, the venue ended up being perfectly intimate and because they had held their engagement party there, it held special memories for both of them.
Amber and Paul met through an industry charity ball and their long courtship culminated in a romantic proposal that took place while on holiday in Vietnam. ”Paul had the ring in a sock throughout the holiday, and although his plans to propose got sidetracked with weather interruptions that compromised his big plan he finally proposed at a beautiful restaurant in Hoi Ann, after a romantic and relaxing day together!” said Amber.
Working and living on the Sunshine Coast and knowing the landscape intrinsically well, both Amber and Paul didn’t hesitate when deciding to celebrate their wedding day in their hometown. Amber planned all the details for the wedding day herself, but made sure Paul assisted with the planning along the way. Amber looked breathtaking in a contemporary yet elegant wedding gown featuring a detailed bodice and tulle layering showcased by a luminescent elegant train. The bridesmaids wore simple black gowns with grey sashes from Hills in Hollywood, and the bridal party held bouquets of David Austin roses which reflected a soft palette of pink, ivory and lemon.
Amber and Paul’s inspiration for their wedding day was one of timeless elegance, and the ceremony and in particular, the vows were very important to them. “We both wrote our own vows. It was our unique touch to the day, and hearing each other’s words for the first time was so very special,” recalled Amber. As busy professionals, both Amber and Paul worked right up to their wedding day but still found time to make sure the intimate details were not forgotten. “The night before our wedding, Paul had given my Matron of Honour a gift to give to me the morning of our wedding. It was a stunning pair of earrings which was accompanied by a beautiful card. I just burst into tears with emotion and wore them for the entire day,” said Amber. Just prior to the outdoor ceremony a moody sky filled with grey clouds hovered above, but in true fairytale style, the clouds parted, blue skies appeared and the expected rain managed to stay away.
Being very familiar with the restaurants in the area made the decision of where to have the reception very easy for Amber and Paul. The fact that they chose award winning restaurant Berardo’s was of no surprise to anyone who really knew what was important to both of them. “Berardo’s provided us with an intimate and romantic setting for our reception, the food was just exquisite and together with our guests, we were able to celebrate our wedding in pure style,” said Amber.
The couple chose photographer Greg Gardner to capture their wedding day with his unique and recognisable style of photography. The Photographs were taken in and around Noosa, encapsulating the scenic beaches at Little Cove and Laguna Bay. “Greg was such a pleasure to deal with and assisted us with other aspects of the wedding as well – which was great,” said Amber. “Greg uses a discreet approach on the day and makes sure the atmosphere is one of fun. The images he took speak for themselves – top class!”
Amber was born and bred on the Sunshine Coast and was schooled in the area. She has also established her property business here. Paul is a partner in a law firm in Maroochydore, and both he and Amber are looking forward to creating their home together on The Sunshine Coast. “Most of my family live here, so there was never any question that one of the most special days of my life would take place in this gorgeous part of Queensland. Paul also wouldn’t have had it any other way,” said Amber.
“Noosa is our ‘get away place’ and even though it’s practically right on our doorstep, it is still far enough away to make you feel like you have had a break. We love the beaches and its beautiful ambience, so it was wonderful celebrating our wedding day there,” recalled Amber.

A candle lit mountain gazebo, with an elegant dinner sitting and an intimate proposal certainly set the bar high for the special wedding celebration of Hannah and Amos. “I had recently complained to Amos that we never do anything romantic anymore. Then on a Tuesday evening he picked me up in his Dad’s 1975 Bentley Rolls Royce and took me driving through the hinterland. Suddenly I saw a trail of fairy lights that led to a beautiful setting on an escarpment overlooking the Sunshine Coast. It then hit me what was about to unfold, it was the most romantic night of my life.” Hannah and Amos continued the mountain theme and were married at the Maleny Anglican Church by Amos’s mother who had recently become a celebrant.

With individual touches and original ideas Hannah and Amos created a day that wasn’t typical of traditional style. “The boys wore black cashmere and wool trench coats, and we selected the music we really wanted.” With vintage charm and beautiful feminine touches Hannah and Amos had the wedding of their dreams. “Being announced as Mr and Mrs Bartle while surrounded by our family and friends was the best part of our gorgeous wedding day.”

After a romantic proposal on a seaside cliff in Portugal, Ben and Laura started wedding preparations from London. “We thought it would be difficult planning everything from overseas, but after deciding on gorgeous Maleny Manor to celebrate our wedding day our concerns were alleviated immediately. “The super organised Marlene from Maleny Manor took care of everything, she was truly a godsend” Laura exclaimed. Laura and Ben celebrated their wedding day with family and friends from all over the world, “ It was a magical day” said Laura. Ben got a wonderful surprise during the ceremony when Laura sang him a beautiful song that she had written especially for him. When asked what was the best part of the wedding day, both Laura and Ben in unison said “The Kiss!”. With special moments like this one has to believe that “love at first sight” is not just a fairytale.

Amamoor Lodge is owned and operated by Clinton’s parents “It was a very special and relaxed atmosphere’ said Jo-Ann; “ I travelled in an original Cobb and Co Coach to the ceremony, which was driven and owned by Clinton’s father John.” The most special part of their day was a testament to the obvious close family ties that both families share. “ Both my mother and father walked me down the aisle, and together with Clinton’s parents gave us away to each other, and promised to uphold and strengthen our marriage with their love and support”. Family and closest friends witnessed their celebration of love, and the beginning of a new life together.

Emma received an extraordinary memory on her 21st birthday after her soon to be husband Davorin surprised her with an adrenalin adventure skydive, disguised with a proposal. “I pulled into the skydiving centre and dared Emma to jump out of a perfectly good plane,” recalls Davorin. It took a little persuasion, but soon both Emma and Davorin were climbing to 14 thousand feet, and were then kindly asked to exit the aircraft.

Soon after safely landing on Currumundi Beach Davorin dropped to one knee and formally proposed to Emma. After such an eventful proposal Emma and Davorin thought it was fitting to celebrate their wedding day with a beach style theme. They chose Shelly Beach for their ceremony location, mainly due to childhood memories. “As a family we often holidayed in Caloundra, the rocks and waterfront of Shelley Beach held a special place in my heart,” said Emma.
Family connections were continued with Emma’s father officially marrying Emma and Davorin. “That was such a wonderfully special moment of our day, having a father who was also a Reverend to marry us,” recalls Emma. The beach style setting provided an alluring back drop for their wedding photography, which also included a private garden location in Buderim.
Beachfront celebrations continued through the evening with the reception being held at Maroochydore Surf Club. Aqua styling was prominent in the bridal party as well as the venue with butterflies and fairy lights creating subtle ambience and ocean views providing Emma and Davorin with their fairytale dream wedding.
